The sculpture presents a reimagined memory of home, using a minimalist wooden structure that evokes both fragility and resilience. Charred boards, placed in the corner of the piece, reference the traditional Ukrainian "pokut," a sacred corner in homes where icons and family memories resided. The reflective glaze on the wood’s surface creates a duality — while the material bears its history, it also invites the viewer to engage in self-reflection. The surface acts as a metaphorical mirror, merging the viewer’s image with the artist’s narrative, sparking a dialogue between personal and public. This contrast between the charred materiality and the reflective smoothness transforms the installation into a space where past and present meet, inviting the viewer to confront both history and their place within it.
